It was very difficult to hear and decipher the trumpet parts so there are a few guesses in here.

Wikipedia tells me: “Talking to the Man in the Moon” is a 1989 hit by songwriter Magnus Frykberg and the first charting single by Swedish singer Titiyo from the eponymous debut music album Titiyo. The critically acclaimed single was a “massive late 1980s European hit”; it charted in Sweden for five weeks, and reached no. 6.

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox recorded an outstanding version of Radiohead’s Creep. I was in the audience at the Sydney Opera House as part of PMJ’s 2017 Tour, and when this song was performed at the end of the show it brought the house down!
To try to recreate some of that magic and showcase the amazing vocal talents of my Bandhub friend Cecilia, I transcribed the trombone and tenor sax parts and included the chords. The trombone part has been transposed for flugelhorn, if required.

Ahh, the memories! I certainly remember my Dad laughing at EVERYTHING Abe Vigoda said on the Barney Miller TV show. Which made it very difficult to take him seriously, years later as an adult, when I first saw him in The Godfather.
This is a short but sweet trumpet feature.

There are two versions of this chart, both sounding identical. The first is, I think, easier to read. The second, with its correct key and accidentals, is more enharmonically correct, but I think more difficult to read. Anyway, I’m letting you decide which you prefer…..

The timing of the syncopated notes is key. This is the original R&B version of the song as performed by Joe Turner, which should not be confused with Bill Haley’s R&R cover.

Another from the early 70s when rock bands with hot horn sections enjoyed commercial success! Vehicle is the one-hit wonder for the Chicago-based band The Ides of March. It rose to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week of May 23, 1970. It is purported to be the fastest selling single in Warner Bros. Records history.
Here we get to enjoy a great trumpet and tenor sax combo. A powerful sound, especially with the sax anchoring the low range so nicely.
