Although I thought this song was in C major?

Yes, the song is in C-concert Major. I transcribe all of my charts for Bb Trumpet, making the transposed key D Major in this case.
If you want to play it on keyboards you would need to transpose every note down by 2 half-steps, which is the reverse of what trumpet players need to do when they play piano charts.

Awesome, thanks Gary. Our band just suggested this today to add to our repertoire and great to find this so quickly. I had a go last week as transposing a trumpet line and it took me hours to get a rough draft, so this is such a great find. I might have to take some bits down an octave, though, being an amateur 🙂
